Meeting your driver at Don Mueang
Don Mueang is Bangkok's older airport in the north of the city and the base for most low-cost airlines. It has two terminals, so tell us your flight number and we will send the driver to the right one:
- Terminal 1 (international flights): meet at Gate 5 in the arrival hall.
- Terminal 2 (domestic flights): meet at Gate 12 in the arrival hall.
Your driver holds a name sign and helps with your bags to the car.
The route from DMK to Pattaya
Because Don Mueang is on the opposite side of Bangkok from Pattaya, the car uses the elevated tollways to cross the city before joining Motorway 7 to the east coast. That is why the fare is a little higher than from Suvarnabhumi and the drive takes about 2 to 2.5 hours. All tollway and motorway fees are already included — you will not be asked to pay anything on the way.
Traffic across Bangkok is heaviest on weekday mornings and late afternoons. If you land in those hours, expect the longer end of the travel time; late-evening arrivals are usually much faster.
Connecting from a domestic flight?
Many visitors fly into Don Mueang from Chiang Mai, Phuket or Krabi and continue to Pattaya the same day. A private taxi is the simplest way to do this with luggage, and it saves the trip across town to a bus terminal.
